Activities Southbound

Zugspitz region

A few kilometers south of the DIRINGLO is the Zugspitz region.

The area offers a wide variety of tours for mountain hiking, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding and hang gliding, Nordic cross-country skiing, alpine skiing or ski touring all from high to highest level.

Or you can choose to spend your time on the wooden terraces of mountain huts, most of which are accessible by lift and on easier mountain paths, where local specialties in front of wild mountain panoramas await lovers of culinary delights and scenic views.

E-bike, hiking boots or the mountain boots

The world-famous towns of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau at the foot of the Zugspitze and next to the picturesque Eibsee are just waiting to be explored, as is the nearby Austrian side of the Zugspitze with Lermoos, Ehrwald and Biberwier.

The large valley around Garmisch-Partenkirchen can also be reached by bike from DIRINGLO on various, but always impressive bike paths – always with a view of the Wetterstein massif.

One route follows the Bodensee-Königsee cycle path along the Loisach, past Eschenlohe, Oberau and Farchant.

Another route follows a wooded section of the “Meditationsweg Ammergauer Alpen im Blauen Land” (meditation trail Ammergauer Alps), also in the direction of Eschenlohe, past the “7 springs”, which are as fabulously located as they sound, along the Prühlmoos and the Oberfilz to Farchant.

By the way: charging stations for your e-bikes are of course available at the DIRINGLO.

You can also do this route on foot, depending on your fitness level. As a guest at DIRINGLO the use of public transport in the region is free of charge with the KÖNIGSCARD (regional bus RVO, as well as RB and RE trains Oberammergau – Murnau (and back) and Uffing – Garmisch-Partenkirchen (and back)).
